Why do I need a wedding planner?
You don’t, but there are a lot of reasons you may want one! Weddings by nature are often stressful - because almost anything involving money, family, and expectations is often stressful. Sure, it's a ball to ooh and aah over cake designs, but there's nothing enjoyable about researching mini-buses for guest transport or making seating charts. There isn't much joy in reviewing vendor contracts or keeping track of payments, either. Hire a wedding planner so that, you can focus on the fun parts... and leave the tedious bits to someone else.
We work with our clients to help them create the weddings that they want with as little stress as possible. This means that we’ll probably encourage you to simplify things, not to add them, we are here to talk you down from the ledge, to tell you to ignore your cousin/high school friend/brother-in-law who's questioning your decisions, and to ask you four days before your wedding if you really want to spend eight hours covering your table numbers in glitter. If you do, then we’ll be right there with you (who doesn’t love glitter)! And if you don't, then we’ll encourage you to put down the glue, and go have a glass of wine with your soon-to-be spouse.
We will help you scout venues, pick and word invitations, pick a color scheme, assemble favors, attend catering or cake tastings, give you band recommendations, set up decor, handle day of payments to vendors, break down at the end of the night, sew up the seam you ripped on the dance floor, pass you lipstick when you need a touch up, load gifts into cars, hold your dress while you pee (it's happened!), help calm your overly tense mother in law an d have the bartender cut off your drunk uncle. There is pretty much nothing we will say no to.
Can we meet you before we hire you?
Yes! This is a big decision (for both of us) and we want to make sure that you are as excited to work with us as we are with you! We can skype, have a phone chat, meet for coffee (or champagne) and get to know each other. Weddings are one of our favorite conversation topics and we can’t wait to hear all about yours!
What kind of weddings do you work on?
We have worked on every size and type of wedding, We love backyard weddings, weeknight weddings, barbeque weddings, church weddings, weddings done on tiny budgets, cocktail party weddings, park weddings, giant guest list weddings, restaurant weddings, museum weddings, beach weddings and courthouse weddings. (Yeah, we pretty much just love weddings.)
Do you have a minimum budget you'll work with?
We’ve worked on weddings with budgets that range from $10,000 to $250,000, and everywhere in between. You don't have to spend a lot to have a beautiful, and more importantly, incredibly meaningful, wedding, but you also have to be realistic and realize that if the wedding you want involves a formal multi-course meal for 200, it isn't going to be cheap. We can help you figure out what a realistic budget is for the wedding you want, or how to create a wedding you'll love with the budget you have.
Ok, you've convinced me, but what if I don't have the budget for a planner?
We can still help! Maybe your best friend/cousin/hairstylist has also decided she can be your wedding planner, but you don’t quite know if you have it together enough to trust that the details will get done. We have a “prep package” that can get you prepared. We will sit down with you and your planner to be, review all your documents and contracts, develop a detailed day of timeline, and help figure out where you may need extra help or where you may have overlooked something. Our “prep package” includes 10 hours of consultation and is $500.
